Waiting at the Crossing, it's country dark on a two-lane road, suddenly the crossing signals start flashing and the gates drop, a shrill whistle echoes into the distance as the freight train approaches the crossing. An old pickup truck and a 1957 Chevrolet wait for the train to pass!
I began by building a 3D diorama of the road, the crossing signals, the freight train, the motor vehicles, and the dead tree. In my paint program, I added the plants, enhanced the vehicles added light effects and stars. Background trees, lighting tweaks, foreground plants were next. I then rebuilt the road and train tracks and made several adjustment passes until completion!

I began painting in 1993 when I won a sales contest and used the prize to purchase a set of acrylics. Since retiring after over 40 years in retail I have devoted my energy to improving my artistic skills. I am always striving to add depth and an extra dimension to my work
